Florals
JOYFUL BLOOMS
42cm x 53cm
Oil on paper
Cut flowers often just ask to be painted. Especially vibrant colours like these roses which seemed to glow as they sat in their vase.
AUTUMN ACER
50cm x 75cnm
Acrylic on board
I set myself a challenge last autumn to paint an acer in my garden with any colour other than green or the more typical autumn colours of yellow or orange. A non-autumnal colour meant I could see this little bush quite differently, even though I pass it every day in my garden.

LOOK AT ME!
32cm x 40cm
Acrylic on paper
Strelizia lillies are one of the most joyful plants to grow in the garden - always so perky and cheeky! This one was asking to be painted as it stood out against the darker background of the flower bed.
This painting is also available ready framed.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
40cm x 60cm
Acrylic on canvas paper
After a long and grey winter these sweet flowers were a bright reminder that Spring does eventaully arrive. And a happy bunch of flowers to celebrate a birthday.
BLUE VASE
70cm x 50cm
Acrylic on canvas paper
Pots of flowers have such an appeal - especially when the pot adds to the joy of the flowers in it. This was a special vase of flowers - given on Mother’s Day from my special sons!
JUST FLOWERS
30cm x 40cm
Acrylic on canvas paper
When flowers in a vase start to wear out and fade they have their own beauty…..less striking as individual blooms but somehow merging with the rest in the vase to just make a picture that needs painting.
RED RED RED DAHLIAS
50cm x 70cm
Acrylic and inks on canvas paper
Florals offer such a wide variety of shapes, colours and of course painting opportunities. This pot is nothing much but the flowers were such a wow I had to get out my inks and paints and get them into a picture.
