Florals

JOYFUL BLOOMS
42cm x 53cm
Oil on paper

Cut flowers often just ask to be painted. Especially vibrant colours like these roses which seemed to glow as they sat in their vase.

MIXED BUNCH
50cm x 75cnm
OIL on board

Just placing random flowers together in a sort of bunch can make for a pleasing sight - and this random bunch inspired me to go and paint them….before they wilted or died so done rapidly but with great enjoyment.

LOOK AT ME!
32cm x 40cm
Acrylic on paper

Strelizia lillies are one of the most joyful plants to grow in the garden - always so perky and cheeky! This one was asking to be painted as it stood out against the darker background of the flower bed.

This painting is also available ready framed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
51cm x 71cm (framed)
Acrylic on canvas paper

After a long and grey winter these sweet flowers were a bright reminder that Spring does eventaully arrive. And a happy bunch of flowers to celebrate a birthday.

BLUE VASE
70cm x 50cm
Acrylic on canvas paper

Pots of flowers have such an appeal - especially when the pot adds to the joy of the flowers in it. This was a special vase of flowers - given on Mother’s Day from my special sons!

JUST FLOWERS
30cm x 40cm
Acrylic on canvas paper

When flowers in a vase start to wear out and fade they have their own beauty…..less striking as individual blooms but somehow merging with the rest in the vase to just make a picture that needs painting.

LOVE BOUQUET

Acrylic on canvas paper

Som bright flowers just seem to dance on their own….so full of colour and life. Capturing that energy and joy in a painting is a fun challenge to take on. So I did…..

LONELY LILY
20cm x 25cm
Acrylic on canvas paper

Single blooms that are vibrant and a lovely shape deserve to be featured just as they are…..without competing with other blooms in a bunch.

HAPPY POT
20cm x 25cm
Acrylic on canvas paper

The mix of light, leaf colour and shadows can bring some still life florals to life. A simple vase, a plain table and glorious autumn leaves made a pot of flowers a joy to paint

FALLING LEAVES
20cm x 25cm
Acrylic on canvas paper

Nature is endless in the inspiration it can offer us artists. Just a few leaves glimpsed from different angles and in fading light inspired this painting.
